Ah, the Summer! Warmth and activity, camps and creativity. We are definitely in summer mode! Summer camps and retreats have started and throughout these next couple of months, we have quite a few things coming up! Definitely check out our socials to stay up-to-date with upcoming events and travel plans.
But… we do have some big things coming up and in the works. For the last blog, we talked about how this is a season for continuing, growing, and staying steady and faithful with the steps God has already directed us on. This has looked like communicating with our Kenyan and Indonesian contacts to arrange the next coffee purchases. We are pursuing buying coffee in different ways from each place but we have some exciting news!
WE ARE GETTING MORE COFFEE FROM INDONESIA!
And that’s not all.
WE ARE SENDING BRETT TO KENYA!
First things first, Indonesia. Some connections in Indonesia are traveling back to the United States and they are bringing coffee with them. We are THRILLED with this!
We loved the first round of Indonesian coffee.
You loved the Indonesian coffee.
Everybody loved the Indonesian coffee.
So praise God we have been able to purchase more. We will keep you more in the loop with when we will have it available for purchasing. It will be a little while before it’s ready, but we are still super pumped.
And next, Brett is going back to Kenya. Yes, you heard that right. One of the biggest challenges we’ve been working on in Kenya is our contacts are not a part of the coffee industry. They don’t know about coffee picking, processing, or selling. They are novices, which isn’t the end of the line, it’s just a hurdle to jump. We’ve been developing a plan to educate Willis so that they can begin processing coffee themselves.
We are excited about what coffee processing can do with Standing in the Gap - Kenya, the jobs it can produce, and the way it can partner with the discipleship house for finances, and training and equipping them with skills. But we haven’t been able to figure out a way to get them going. Until now. We kept saying, “if only someone could teach them”, “If only there was someone to go over there and be with them in this process”. Well, that someone is Brett.
We are still working out the details of how long and when, but it looks like he’s going to be going for a few weeks in October. Gospel Coffee is so excited to partner with Standing in the Gap - Kenya! And we absolutely cannot wait to see what God is going to be doing through this connection!
So, folks, those are the biggest updates we have. And we just want to remind you, stay faithful with little. The Lord has refreshed us with reminders from His Scripture and through our brothers and sisters in Christ’s encouragement, to continue to press on and endure through the good, the hard, and the mundane.
Our life and ministry have picked up. You can be a partner with us this summer in a few ways.
One, obviously Pray for us. Pray for the students we will be interacting with throughout the summer. Pray for our ministry team, for our hearts to be pure and our bodies to be ready and healthy for whatever God needs us to do. Pray for each of the camps and leadership in the camp. Pray for travel safety. But most importantly pray the Gospel would abound more and more and that more would come to know and live for Christ Jesus.
Another way you can partner is financially. Some of the events and camps this summer are through our other ministries Gospel Outreach and GO Worship. Gospel Coffee is funded through the business of coffee. But the other two areas of ministry are funded through support and provision that comes from our brothers and sisters in Christ and God’s hand. He has been so extremely faithful to provide for our needs. If you want to participate in His provision, please reach out to us.
We love being a part of the body of Christ. It has been such a cool opportunity to partner with so many Christ-followers around the world to further the kingdom, to pour into our brothers and sisters, and to be encouraged by them. Thank you for your prayers and support and helping hand.
Shalom from the Gospel Coffee Crew
