One. Year. Old. We can hardly believe it, and yet... it's here.

We are A M A Z E D!

Do we say that too much? Is it possible? I think, "NO WAY!".

God continually blesses, provides, brings connections, and lavishes His love on us personally and as Gospel Coffee. And the only thing to do is say "THANK YOU!" and walk in obedience. So here we are.

One year ago, God directed us to start Gospel Coffee. Not quite sure of all the details, we took one step of faith. "Trust God and do the next right thing" my wise parents say. And that's what we did. Just the next right thing. Which led to the next thing. And the next. And now here we are.

BUT...

What exactly is Gospel Coffee?

Gospel Coffee is a business. With a heart for missions. Our purpose is to connect with people and ministries throughout the world and support them with their call in the Kingdom of God.

Something that has unified our team from the start is a love to support and encourage believers. As Paul says in the Bible, the Christian life and Way of Jesus is like running a race. It takes endurance. And it often takes a body or community. We love being encouragement and little flames in others' journeys and walks with the Lord. God has brought our team each other, a blessing we don't take for granted. This allows us to receive correction, support, and encouragement from one another, which in addition allows us to give those things to others as well.

We started out simply doing missions here in the US. Connecting with a church, coming alongside their youth ministers and planning and leading a youth event or retreat, to simultaneously give the youth pastors a break but also to pour into their students and be another voice for Truth. Then, leading worship once a month for a small church who didn't have a worship team. Then ,traveling to Texas for a young adult retreat, leading worship, speaking, sharing testimony.

And God grew our team's connections.

Then, broadened our perspective.

We went on a mission trip to Mexico and met a pastor of a local neighborhood church. Instantly, the Holy Spirit connected our hearts. He loved the kids. He had a desire to teach them the truth and connect with his neighborhood. Through this, the Lord connected us to his home village in Oaxaca.

God made several things very apparent.

  1. In the U.S., multitudes of people drink coffee.

  2. Just about every church serves coffee just about every Sunday.

  3. In so many foreign countries, coffee trees are plentiful.

  4. Foreign missions constantly have to raise donations for their ministries.

The solution. Gospel Coffee.

God has now connected us with a small church in Oaxaca, Mexico, an alcohol recovery and prison ministry that facilitates discipleship in Oyugis, Kenya, and a small team with discipleship groups and evangelistic and shepherding hearts in Indonesia.

God has connected us to churches and coffeeshops and faithful believers in the U.S. In Missouri, in Florida, in Texas, in Kansas.

How big is our GOD? He is so faithful and so extremely good. We are overwhelmed.

Thank you Father. I am blown away. Simply stated. I am amazed at how Your hand has been upon us, at the connections and the threads and the intricacy of Your woven path. You are not a small God. You are so so big. And You are so good. Despite our situations and despite our failings. You remain the same. You remain faithful. Time and time again You show up.
